With a special session looming where major budget cuts will be discussed, Nebraska State Senator Jeremy Norquist has come up with a unique way to get public input. He's created a website where Nebraskans can contact state legislators with their concerns.

'NebraskaBudget.com' (see link on the left) contains a short online form asking questions about Nebraskans' top budget priorities and daily challenges. Norquist says the responses are sent directly to members of the Nebraska Legislature's Appropriations Committee, as well as Governor Dave Heineman.

"As we work to make necessary cuts to our state budget, it's more important than ever for Nebraskans to have their voices and their priorities heard," said Nordquist in a news release. "It's my hope that NebraskaBudget.com will allow Nebraskans to more easily contact the policymakers who will be on the front lines of making these tough budget decisions."

The Legislature will convene in Special Session on November 4th with the goal of trimming millions of dollars from the state's budget. Governor Heineman announced the session after state revenues fell 11.2% short of projections in September.
