Meaningful
Property Tax
Relief
Jeremy Nordquist and his wife, Shannon, own a home
in one of the oldest neighborhoods in Omaha. Jeremy knows that
Nebraska's high property tax rate hurts everyone, from young couples
trying to afford their first home to senior citizens forced out of the
house they have lived in for decades. That's why Jeremy's top
priority is meaningful property tax relief.
Protecting Our
Neighborhoods
Jeremy is a husband and a homeowner with a real stake in our
community. Jeremy will make sure that cops have the resources
they need to curb crime, drug use, and vandalism in our
neighborhood. That is why Jeremy has been endorsed by the
Nebraska Fraternal Order of Police. He will also work with law
enforcement officials and community leaders to crack down on
graffiti. He supports tougher penalties for vandalism and will
push for immediate parental involvement.
Standing Up for Our Values
We'll be able to count on Jeremy to be a strong voice for our
values. He's pro-life and is endorsed by Nebraska Right to
Life. Jeremy is a graduate of Creighton University
and a member of the Knights of Columbus. Jeremy and his wife
Shannon are members
of St. Frances Cabrini Parish.
Creating
Economic Opportunities
Jeremy
will work side-by-side with business and community leaders to develop
sensible
economic development incentives that revitalize downtown and South Omaha, make our
business
climate more competitive, and create jobs that provide opportunities
for advancement and can support a family.
Improving Education in the Classroom
Jeremy
believes that every child should have a quality education regardless of
their
school district. He will work to ensure
that our schools get their fair share of state education dollars. To improve our kids' educational experience,
he will fight to improve teacher pay and wants to give teachers more
flexibility to enforce discipline and maintain order in the classroom.
Reducing Health Care
Costs and Improving Quality
Too often,
families face medical hardships that deplete assets and put them at
risk
financially. To reduce this catastrophic risk, Jeremy will work
to develop innovative solutions to make
health insurance affordable for small businesses and the
uninsured. To improve the quality and efficiency of care, Jeremy
will help health care providers with the cost of implementing the use
of electronic medical records.
