Creighton's Empty Bowls Project to Benefit Siena Francis House

Creighton University will host The Empty Bowls Project from 4 to 8 p.m. on Tuesday, March 16 and from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. on Wednesday, March 17 at the Lied Art Gallery in the Lied Education Center for the Arts on the Creighton campus.

After purchasing a handmade ceramic bowl for $10, participants can enjoy soup donated by Omaha restaurant Dixie Quicks. Participants are invited to keep their hand-crafted bowls as a reminder that somewhere, someone’s bowl is always empty.

Amy Nelson, assistant professor of Fine Arts and director of the project, said Creighton students, faculty and staff and students from Duchesne Academy, have made about 550 bowls for the event. All proceeds from this project will go to the Siena Francis House of Omaha.
